Erie Catholic School Delays and Closures

Throughout the year, we want to ensure clear communication regarding delays and school closures. This page is an additional way for us to quickly communicate with all Erie Catholic families across our six campuses as well as refer to relevant policies and procedures. Please note that all official announcements will be emailed or texted to families via our student information system, PlusPortals. If you do not have an email or cell phone on file, we encourage you to contact your school office or log in to PlusPortals to ensure your information is up to date.

Announcement: Erie Catholic Schools Operating on Two-Hour Delay Thursday, February 6th 2025 (as of 10pm 2/5/2025)

All Erie Catholic schools will operate on a two-hour delay Thursday, February 6th. Please check your email or login to PlusPortals for more details.

All Erie Catholic schools will operate as a flexible instruction day tomorrow; school buildings are closed. Please refer to Google Classroom and/or teacher communication regarding flexible instruction day packets and/or assignments. Stay warm!

Announcement: Erie Catholic Schools Will Open Monday, December 9th

All Erie Catholic schools will resume normal operations on Monday, December 9th.

Announcement: Erie Catholic Schools Closed Friday, December 6th; Flexible Instruction Day (as of 7pm on 12/5/2024)

School is canceled tomorrow, Friday, December 6th and will be a flexible instruction day. Please refer to your teachers' previous emails regarding class assignments. Please stay safe throughout the weekend. We look forward to safely returning to school on Monday.

Announcement: Erie Catholic Schools Closed Thursday, December 5th; Flexible Instruction Day (as of 4pm on 12/4/2024)

School is canceled for Thursday, December 5th and will be a flexible instruction day. This means your child(ren) will bring home materials and assignments today that can be completed at home. These assignments will include a mix of activities on Google Classroom, worksheets, and remedial tasks. These materials will serve as their schoolwork for the day. If your child(ren) did not attend school today, they will receive their flexible instruction packets upon their return to school and can submit the assignments for credit as outlined in the student handbook.

As of now, no decision has been made regarding school cancellations for Friday. We will notify you of any closures through email, text, and TV announcements as soon as possible.

Announcement: Two-Hour Delay for Wednesday, December 4th as of 4:27pm on 12/3/2024

We have been closely monitoring the weather situation and, at this time, have decided that all Erie Catholic School System schools will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday December 4th due to ongoing weather conditions. 
 
Please note the following important updates: 

• Parental discretion is advised. If you feel it is unsafe to travel, please prioritize your family's safety. Please refer to your school notification email for how to notify your school's office if your child will not attend. 
   
• Extended Care: There will be no morning care or aftercare available on Wednesday, December 4th. Breakfast will not be served.   
   
• Preschool: Half-day Pre-K is canceled for the day at all six campuses. Full-day preschool will follow the two-hour delay. 
   
• Bus Service: ECSS bus service will not be running. City of Erie buses will not be running. We are not sure about Millcreek busing at this time and will follow up once we have additional details. 
  
  

Should the situation change, we will provide updates as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
